Seven steps before you apply
- Choose the exact institution and course. Start with official provider pages and search a precise entry year, campus, mode and award.
- Check the admissions route. Many undergraduate applicants use UCAS; postgraduate, further education and some specialist applications can be direct.
- Check academic, language and professional criteria. Confirm grades, English evidence, portfolios, assessments or interviews required for your intended programme.
- Investigate costs and funding. Verify current published tuition fees and living costs. Confirm your fee status, bursary rules and whether your nationality/residence affects eligibility.
- Prepare required documentation. Check the provider’s requirements for transcripts, references, personal statement or other evidence. Translation and certification rules vary.
- Confirm visa rules if applicable. Only rely on GOV.UK and licensed sponsors for Student visa rules and documents; an offer is not itself a visa.
- Arrange housing, travel and arrival. Check arrival dates, accommodation contracts, health arrangements and any required registration before travel.
